Horatio has two namesakes. First, he is named after John's father, who was also a William H. The H was for Henry, but we thought it would be fun for our H to be for Horatio. Thus the second namesake, Lord Admiral Horatio Nelson.
We, of course, call him Horatio. Or The Admiral. But he has acquired a new name at day care. They call him Willie Nelson!
To be honest, this possibility hadn't really occurred to me before naming him, but it doesn't bother me. Just one more cool person from whom he can draw inspiration. And if it is possible to make any sort of predictions at less than a year of age, Horatio might be more likely to follow in the footsteps of Willie than the others.
He is rubbish at physics, as evidenced by the fact that he often tries to squirm from my arms with no regard for the law of gravity. I don't see him wrestling a polar bear any time soon and he constantly turns his sailboat over in the bath. But turn on some music and the boy starts dancing - bopping or swaying to the beat.
We are still calling him Horatio, but I am willing to spring for guitar lessons once his hands get a little bigger.
